[Feature Request] Appearance option that specifies image can overlay outside boundary of parent visual object

Description

It would be nice to be able to control whether visual objects are subject to auto inclusion or being bounded by their parent object. This would allow a object contained by two objects to be shown as an overlay into each. Basically turn off auto inclusion.
