Trying to run rpi-connect

Hi
Has anyone managed to get rpi-connect to work on BBN? I can get realvpn to work over the internet and I'm looking foe something that will work over a network without internet. I can install rpi-connect and I can see the command line but not the gui when I really want it to mirror the desktop so I can see opencpn on a tablet at the helm. I've searched on pi forums and it says that I need wayland enabled. When I do this and reboot all I can see is the command line and the gui doesn't load. I get an error message saying telegraf services can't load and I keep getting undervoltage errors that I didn't get before. No matter what I change in raspi-config the desktop never loads and I end up reformatting the ssd and starting again. I'm wondering what the solution is or is there something different I can use to mirror the pi5 to an android tablet at the helm through a local wireless network without internet. It's getting to the stage where I'm thinking of getting rid of BBN and starting again with openplotter and see if I can get that to work

It works great when I'm connected to the internet. If I remove the sim card from the router so I'm connected to the local network and not the internet it doesn't work which is a shame as I'm trying to access the Pi from a rugged tablet at the helm.

It works even better on LAN (wireless or wired) as it doesn't require real VNC cloud.
