🧱 commit: 0ee3e2e
💻 build source: bitwarden/android/actions/runs/21527118876/attempts/1
🦀 SDK: 2.0.0-4676-0544ddec
🌩 Server: Vaultwarden 2025.12.0
Additional Information
I tried using Bitwarden’s passkey login in some third-party packaged apps, but I noticed that Bitwarden attempts to verify the package I’m using via digitalassetlinks.googleapis.com and then refuses to provide passkey authentication. However, other password managers (such as Proton Pass) are able to provide passkey login for the account.
I think it would be helpful to add an option for advanced users to disable this verification.
This is not simply about bypassing security protections. In my region, access to Google APIs is restricted. If I don’t use a VPN, Bitwarden may fail to work properly in some apps (I’m not sure exactly when it requests Google API verification) because googleapis is unavailable. I suspect that the difficulties I previously encountered when trying to create passkeys in Bitwarden may have been caused by this as well. I only realized this while writing this issue, so I apologize for not being able to conduct more thorough testing.
