Incorrect file metadata on upload to iBroadcast #11

Hi again. I went ahead and imported my library (in singleton mode) into beets, and decided not to autotag it after all. Most of my library was already in iBroadcast, but the plugin uploaded the ones that hadn't made it yet. That went mostly smoothly, except for a few things.

The main issue is that in some cases it populated the artist field (in iBroadcast) with "beets".
In a few of those instances the album field contained the artist name.
In one of the instances, the title (and album) was populated with the artist name.

In one strange case, the title was mostly the same ("AM" instead of "3AM"), the album became "beets", and the artist became "jordan" (my name...)

I scoured over the tags of these tracks in beets, and can't find any consistent patterns, other than some of the tracks belonging to the same artists.

I also tried deleting one of the tracks from iB, then force reuploaded it, and it still uploaded as artist "beets".

I guess, any advice how to further debug this?

At the risk of adding irrelevant info, here's some other issues I had which may or may not be related:

  • Certain symbols were excluded from some uploaded titles/artist names (weird artsy symbols and emojis). I tried manually editing the names in iB to be correct again and at least in my test case it worked fine, so I'm not sure where along the line that problem arose.

  • beets usertag -> iBroadcast tag sync is working. But iBroadcast tag -> beet usertags syncing isn't working.
