We welcome feedback and contributions to improve both the [guidelines]({{ site.baseurl }}/guidelines/index.html) and the [data catalogues]({{ site.baseurl }}/data_catalogues/index.html). If you're a data custodian or anyone with relevant insights, there are several ways to contribute.


Via a GitHub Issue

If you've identified an error, have a suggestion, or wish to discuss an improvement, please follow the below steps:

  1. Create a GitHub account if you do not already have one
  2. Visit our GitHub repository: manaakiwhenua/PAN-NZ-data-catalogue-and-guidelines
  3. Open a new Issue
  4. You will be prompted to select an "issue template" - Please select either the Guidelines or Dataset template
  5. provide your feedback.
  6. We will respond and track the discussion via the issue

Edit the Catalogue via Pull Request

If you are familiar with GitHub, please feel free to suggest changes directly to the catalogue data (e.g., /_data/regional_protected_areas.csv) or guidelines via pull request.

This can be done by:

  1. Clone the repository
  2. Edit the relevant CSV file in _data/ (These csv files are served to the data catalogues and thus all edits should be made here
  3. Submit a Pull Request with a summary of your changes

We'll review and follow up with any clarifications before merging.
