Describe the enhancement
This feature request is to expose the Tado "Zone Controller" setting within Home Assistant. This setting, available in the native Tado app, allows a user to designate which smart thermostat controls the heating for a zone or, crucially, to make a zone "Independent" so it cannot call for heat.
Use cases
This enhancement would be useful for managing heating more intelligently and efficiently.
For example, a user could create an automation where both their home office and hallway are scheduled to 21°C during the day. By automating the settings so the office zone uses the main thermostat as its 'Zone Controller' while the hallway zone is set to 'Independent', the user ensures only the occupied office can actually trigger a call for heat.
This prevents low-priority areas from turning on the entire heating system unnecessarily, while still allowing them to benefit from passive heat when the system is already active.
Anything else?
The required functions already exist in PyTado.
