Feature Request: Play Albums in Order

When an album is selected from the library view or a search, its tracks are loaded in a random order. Could a setting be added so that albums are loaded in order based on the values of each tracks ID3 tags? Currently I have to sort the queue by hand which is a bit of a pain.

kew does not read metadata from files until the file is playing

reading metadata has been brought up before but i don't believe that it will be implemented as of right now as it would make the program slower to function and the purpose of kew is to be lightweight and quick

a potential solution to your problem could be to put the position of the song in the album in your file name
there has also been some discussion on that though and how to handle numbers in the first section of the filename if you would like to chime in on that

Thanks for your reply. As you suggested here, could the metadata not be cached, but then loaded only when the album is chosen instead of at startup?
Another method I can think of would be to read the metadata directly but in a separate thread and also only when the album is chosen to prevent sluggishness with actual player.
Let me know if these are stupid suggestions lol

Not stupid at all. kew is based on the assumption that the file names are in track order, ie numbered. This is not always the case of course. The metadata could be read when you enqueue an album, and sorted, but it has to be limited in some way, because there is also a 'kew all' function which queues your entire library. you can also run this from within kew by pressing enter on the - MUSIC LIBRARY - header. So maybe a max of 300 or something like that, or in some other way identifying an album.

I think this could be slow, so should only happen if the songs aren't numbered in the file name.
