Hi there 👋

I am Benjamin, a PhD researcher at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ), working at the intersection of deep learning and medical imaging. My research focuses on scalable infrastructure for multicenter and federated medical image analysis, leveraging platforms such as Kaapana. I am particularly interested in breast cancer imaging, with a focus on dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) MRI, where I develop methods for robust analysis and longitudinal assessment.

  • https://github.com/kaapana/kaapana: Kaapana is an open source toolkit for state of the art platform provisioning in the field of medical data analysis. The applications comprise AI-based workflows and federated learning scenarios with a focus on radiological and radiotherapeutic imaging.

  • https://github.com/MIC-DKFZ/MeisenMeister: MeisenMeister is a framework for breast cancer classification on DCE-MRI. It is designed to help develop reproducible multi-stage pipelines, from dataset fingerprinting and experiment planning to ROI preprocessing, fold-safe training, benchmarking, and ROI-level inference.

  • https://github.com/MIC-DKFZ/nnInteractive: A comprehensive 3D interactive segmentation method supporting diverse prompts like points, scribbles, boxes, and a novel lasso prompt integrated into widely used image viewers like Napari, MITK and 3D Slicer.

  • https://github.com/MIC-DKFZ/VoxTell (CVPR26): A 3D vision–language model that maps free-form text prompts, from single words to clinical sentences, directly to volumetric masks across CT, PET, and MRI, smimilar in spirit to SAM3.

  • https://github.com/MIC-DKFZ/BreastDivider (MICCAI25 WOMEN): The first large-scale dataset and model for left/right breast segmentation in MRI, featuring over 17,000 3D scans with partial lesion annotations.
